Vintage Levi jeans, specifically of the 501 variation have addmidedly been on my radar for quite some time now and yet, only recently have I taken the plunge and purchased a pair. The reason for my wardrobe lacking such jean was not down to lack of lust - as prolific as the cult denim is, the search to acquire a pair however, proved somewhat difficult. Or, such was until ASOS marketplace came in that is, with all of the frayed, straight-leg form I had been longing for.

A high-waist is typically, the only waist I allow for my denim desires et al yet surprisingly my love for Levi's does not wain despite their more mid-rise fit. While, to further surprise, the buttons are no hassle at all AND - the jeans are reasonably comfortable - even enough to wear suitably on a 4 hour plane journey (tried and tested, of course).
Since acquiring a pair, I have gloriously found that Levi's lend to an outfit this alluring, 'cool girl' quality that could previously only be found through endless scrolling of Pinterest and in outfit posts on envy-inducing former fashion editor's fashion blogs. Throw anything on with a pair of Levi's (or well, the singular pair I currently own - multiple pairs are to soon be obtained) and the ensemble just feels elevated certainly, while still appearing effortless in a very Jeanne Damas or Camille Rowe way and I am all for emulating that laid back yet still somehow striking appeal or try to, at least, opinion on such is subjective - please judge at will.

A few months back, the time this outfit was first constructed, the thought of 'is this outfit too much?!' anxiously sprung to mind - silver sequin choker, gold shredded jacket and snakeskin boots make up the clashing, standout attributes while the 501 jeans and silky cami are the items which pair down the outfit. Unknowingly, I have been leaning towards more simple ensembles of late, maybe it is the Levi 501's spell that has spurred on this non-fussy sartorial thirst. A light jean straight leg, a silk cami and a patent ankle boot is the inspiration of late - just add a neckerchief or a choker et voila - your reoccurring sartorial woes are sorted, or mine are at least and at last.

Aside from talk of a much overdue outfit, such a long absence from this blog was never an intention of mine, it just so happens that life got in the way somehow - a relaxing holiday and leaving a job I had for nearly a year later and suddenly as I am writing this I have 12 days before I move to London for University. Scary, exciting and definitely stressful are the words I would choose to describe the situation I currently find myself in and, along the way I guess that such pressure had led me to lose inspiration with Electra Violet, maybe it was (and still sort of is) writers block but also in a sense I have wanted to shut it all out in the past month, the reason why? I truly do not know, I can only assume that the small yet prolonged sense of dread and delay in relation to FINALLY finish writing and publishing a blog post is due to the startling reality of my (very) near future - exciting certainly, yet completely and utterly daunting nonetheless. Onwards however, I shall not let the anxiety consume me any more than it already has, here is to a new outlook and a new city.
